Hey, I am Alive!

It has been a while!!!

Finally, makakaluwag na ang schedule ko dahil tapos na ang birthday party ni James. I have not been able to write anything here kasi I was so busy thinking about the business and the party. Last week was the busiest week of my entire year. Grabe, tumbling talaga ako. Hahahaha! If you want to ask about his party, mejo hindi makinis ang lahat pero ayos naman in total. What's important was ok naman ang naging party.

As of the moment, I am still on aftershock sa mga nangyari. Specially sa business, I don't know where to start again. Hindi ko maasikaso because it seems that ang dami kong iniisip pero wala naman akong maumpisahan gawin. =( It feels like I want to sleep a little longer to rest myself from these pero I have to wake up early kasi kung hindi, sasampalin ako ni James tapos pagtatawanan. Hayy.. ang batang yun! Where'd the time go? Parang kahapon lang eh parang tuod yun na hindi makagalaw ng sa sarili nya but now, he has gone really big.

Since my thought were not organized yet, I don't know what to blog today actually. It is just a reminder that my blog and the owner is still alive and kicking. I just hope I can get myself back to normal so I can start doing things. Did you encounter this feeling na you think you have a lot to do pero hindi mo alam kung san ka mag uumpisa?

Yan.

Ganyan na ganyan ang feelings ko ngayon!

Hayy.. mga bakla pakigising nga ako please?! heheheh.

O sha!

One day.. Heheheh =)

Kayo po? Nabasa nyo na ba ang mga posts nya?

Socks and Shoe in One? Attipas It is

This post is related to what I have posted a while ago, about James' walking milestone. I am quite overwhelmed with all the kind words that you left on my previous entry. This made me feel better and realize that James will learn on his own when he's ready.

While I am really glad that he enjoys walking in the mall, with shouting and happy face around whenever I put him down to walk, holding both his hands or sometimes just one or the other to see if he can balance himself better, I am happy to report that he is getting used to his balance although after some steps, he will sit down and would not want to stand up. Maybe it means he's tired or not in the mood to walk. One thing that I have noticed is that he is getting used in making couple of more steps compared to the last time I wrote here. Yey!! =) With that, I know I am on the right track.. Although I always make sure that it won't pressure him at all. We are making it one baby step at a time. =)

Couple of weeks ago, we lost the other pair of his shoes so we have to get him a new one. We went to SM Mall of Asia after visiting his Granny in Pasay. I was looking for a nice everyday shoes that he can wear anytime of the day. Unfortunately, with the colors that I want, they have no stocks left for his size. Instead I bought the one with the sock+shoe combination. The sales lady said that it was perfect for babies who are practicing walking daw. I actually hesitated at first thinking that I'll be having one of it soon but I fell in love with it na so I bought it.

James walked with it just fine. The sole was made of rubber but still I asked if it will hurt their feet while walking on a rocky road but was told it wouln't kasi it was made of rubber nga. One thing I noticed though was the rubber sole is only up to the end of his foot so there were times that it fails to hothe fld on to oot. Natatanggal sya in short. My mom said bakit ganon daw binili ko. Maybe she wasn't used to it kasi naman nung panahon namin eh walang ganyang mga sapatos. Hehehe.

Couple of days after, Nanay came home with a plastic bag while telling me that something came in my sister's mail daw. As I checked, I realized it was the Attipas Toddler Shoes!! I was so happy knowing that it arrived na. I opened the box immediately knowing that it has been opened na. My sister checked it daw kasi. Ok that's fine.

I was so giddy opening it. I want to compare it with the one I bought days ago eh.

My bagong ligong baby with matching kain ng papers.. hayy..

I was asking him to hold the box so I can take a picture with it and him pero look at what he did. Tinitikman yung box ng shoes!! Hayy.. James talaga!

Anyway, we had a scheduled meeting with another Mommy who will bake his cake for his 1st birthday eh kaya nakabihis yan. Heheh. Looking at him, it made me think na binata na ang baby ko ha! Parang kelan lang eh.. Times flew fast, it's been a year of.. Oopps! I think the drama deserves its own entry so cut muna heheh. =)

Back to the kwento..

The next day, James tried walking with his new Attipas Toddler shoe and look, nakatingkayad. Hehehe.

Although I felt he was comfortable with it because from the looks of it, he's like walking barefoot Attipas Toddler Shoes are made of lightweight material and even have a big toe box design so his toes can still move freely. Look at the sock, it wasn't falling or rolling down. It's also is machine washable and are made of 100% non toxic materials and are non slip soles made from Silicon. Comparing it with the one I bought in the Department Store, I'll let you be the judge. =)

Look at the selections!! Really fashionable and colorful isn't it? =)

The Urban Food Collective Weekend Market

Prior to being a blogger, I experienced a weekend market in Ortigas back in the days that I was working there. It was called Banchetto. There were a lot, and I mean it, A LOT of food selections everywhere. It was every Friday night until Saturday morning where they would occupy this part of the road and would set up their tents and food. Almost all the food on your wishlist are there so it really feels like heaven. That's when I started to love weekend market and food bazaars.

Since the Holiday Season is fast approaching, The Urban Food Collective (TUFC) will bring us something to look forward to!

Current, informative and educational, TUFC aims to be the food hub where people can share their fashion for gastronomy. TUFC's online community will feature everything food - articles and recipes, exciting deals featuring the country's best culinary fare, and "The Urban Food Collective Marketplace" which will retail unique food items and implements. To bring the online community even closer together, TUFC will champion various food lifestyle event, where foodies  can meet and indulge in their passion forunique flavors and gustatory delights.

The Urban Food Weekend Market is a carefully curated collection of purveyors. Located in CommerCenter, Alabang's newest lifestyle mall, it is a place where people can comfortably gather, browse and shop. It will be a venue for patrons to find a bevy of treasures from gourmet, specialty foods to local, artisanal arts and crafts. The Weekend Market's activities and pocket events will give them the opportunity to learn new things or simply engage with the community.

For purveyors, it will be an opportunity to showcase their goods to a truly discerning crowd, while providing them with a getaway to other business opportunities with The Urban Food Collective.

A portion of the proceeds from the Weekend Market will be donated to Taguyod Bayan Foundation, which will help in rebuilding the communities affected by typhoon Haiyan in Sara, Iloilo.

Entrance is FREE.

A First time Mom's Rants and Some

A first time Mom’s joy of her child’s milestone are the greatest gift she can receive. All moms are proud of her child’s growth regardless if it’s ahead of what’s in that book, just in time or a little late. Seeing their first smiles, first crawl, first time of standing up on their own, first time they walk on their own and so on.
Lately, I have heard that James' kababata is already walking. She was a week younger than James and at this age of 11 months, she's walking by herself. It has been with a heavy heart hearing people saying to James "bakit si ganto naglalakad na, bakit ikaw hindi pa?". It was quiet annoying on my part because I don't want to put pressure on James. I want him to learn how to do things on his own. I know James can walk, he does when holding on to something. He was just afraid to try and probably lacks a little practice on it.

So what I have done is, when we were outside of the house and I feel tired of carrying him, I put him down, holding his both hands while I stand on his back and let him walk. He is walking naman. When I feel that he is getting used to it, I leave his other hand while still holding the other and let him get his own balance. He is still walking although he was a little afraid sometimes. Para kasi syang lasing maglakad, maybe because he can't get his balance yet. He is also walking too slow. He will walk for about 4 steps then will stop, look around him and just stand there. I often tell him, "Lika na." One of the motivations I am giving him na lang are the cats. Heheheh. When I see one, I told him to walk towards the cat. He follows naman.

Admittedly, I can only practice him on weekends and during the time that I arrived home and he is still awake. We will walk around the house together. Nanay can't get to practice with him because she is too weak to walk with James. Nanay is diabetic so there were times that she's not feeling well. With that, I accepted the fact that he will be walking on his own when he is ready for it. I just can’t understand some people who will say those unwelcome comments about how my baby is growing. It’s not that I don’t accept suggestions or comments but the way it was said does the trick diba? I am the type of person who hates comparison so much so what do you expect from me? I don’t want my baby being compared with someone else too. But anyway, I don’t want to dwell much into that kasi it wasn’t a good sign of a healthy blogger eh! Wow! Gumaganon?! Hahahaha! All I can say is to let it go and let them mind their own business. Am I right or I am right? Heheheh.

I am still into process of planning James’ birthday party. I was able to book the party place, balloon decor and the cake na so I’ll go down with the other small details like invitations and all. I actually made my own invitation. I was quite inspired with Mrs. Mommyholics posts about DIY-ing some of his baby’s birthday so sya na ang peg ko! Hehehe. I am so inlove with her DIYs talaga. I will ask her permission to make gaya in some of it. Hehe.

By the way, My shift has changed again that made me go uneasy about my routine. I have been trying to establish a routine pero ang hirap kasi every 3 weeks, my shift changes. Take note, it has changed pa to 10am to 7pm kung kelan nag aasikaso ako ng mga details ng party ni James. Hayyy.. I was hoping kasi to have some time sana in the afternoon so I can go to Divi and check some stuffs that I can use eh. I’ll let you know in the coming days. =)

Eto pa, I was supposed to attend the Baby Sign Language event on October 4th in the afternoon and Ogalala in the morning however, I am really hesitant to bring James with me with those events. At first, the Ogalala’s event is in the morning which was James’ morning nap time so I guess he won’t enjoy much of it. I am ready to attend na sana the Baby Sign Language workshop however, James woke up at 2pm na from his morning nap. He usually wakes up at 7am then will have his nap at 11am to 2pm na. At the same time, it was raining in the afternoon din. No one will look after him pa because Nanay left to go to my sister’s house. I really want to go alone sana kasi it was a workshop and I know if I’ll have James with me, I can’t participate well. I have nobody to go with us naman since Daryl has a 6 day work week. I was left without a choice. Di bale, I know there’s always a next time. =)

Also, can you help me? I was planning to buy my own domain name na eh. I don’t know how this works. If you are kind enough to help, please send me an email to ryljen.24@gmail.com. Thanks! Thanks and many thanks!! =)

Cramming for James' Birthday

It's been a while again! Sorry guys ha?! Mejo hindi ko lang na anticipate na magiging ganto ako kabusy.

Honestly, mejo hindi ko nga napagtutuunan ng pansin ang business kasi today marks the 1st of October. Imagine!!!!! Malapit na ang 1st birthday ni James!! Hayy naku.. I am so nervous and anxious na. I didn't expect it to be that big naman talaga. Actually, I wanted a party with close friends, some relatives and family lang. However, my boyfriend's clan is huge and they were planning to invite people, as in people! Anyway, I don't care naman how many they wanted as long as they'll pay for the party. Hehehehe! If it was me, I don't want to spend that much eh.

Anyway, my original plan was to celebrate his birthday in Shakey's na lang. For me kasi, it was far from fast food set up. Most of their stores looks so sosyal diba? Heheh. I went to Shakeys Aseana, the newly opened store along Macapagal. When we got there, there was a party on-going. Mejo hindi ko type kasi for me, sobrang liit ng function room nila, hindi magkakasya ang 100 pax. 80 sitting capacity lang daw kasi sila kaya the rest will stay on their dine in area. That is quite fine naman sana, however, their buffet will be set up near their small door na madadaanan ng mga magda dine in. At the same time, I have my own theme sana which was basketball. I can do so naman daw since it was a generic theme lang however, I still need to get their Justice League theme pa din. It has lootbags, head gears, party invitations, cape etc for 30 kids amounting to 4,000 pesos!! I find it really expensive because I am planning to DIY the lootbags. That made me decide that the Shakeys Aseana was a No to me.

Secondly, I checked Fun Ranch in Alabang which has a consumable amount of 35,000 for 50-80 pax. I find it within the budget with the help of my sister pero Daryl doesn't want it there. They worry too much on the guests travel time because most of them are coming from Pasay. I suggested to get a jeep that can accommodate some of the guests pero mas type daw nila sa Shakeys. Sayang, I can see pa naman how happy the kids will be when we have a party in Fun Ranch. My nephew celebrated his 7th birthday party there and I would say that it was a blast. I wanted the same for James pero mukhang sa dami ng guests namin, can't afford ang excess charges in case.

Yesterday after work, I went to Resorts World to check the Shakeys Store there. Daryl said that they can accommodate 200 pax daw. I tagged my friend along. Grabe hassle naman din magpunta ng Resorts World pag wala kang private vehicle no?!
The Shakeys is on Star Cruises Building. The person I talked to said they would allow me to have my own theme without having to pay the 4,000 Justice League Amenities. That was a relief kasi I badly want to have my own theme para naman mejo mukhang pinaghandaan kahit hindi. Hahaha! Also, I want to live by James' real name. "Dwyane James" it is. So ngayon, alam nyo na kung anong team ng NBA fan si Daryl?! I also had a fondant cake made for him and his invitation has been drafter months and months ago so imagine how badly I want to go with the theme diba?! Heheh.Their store has 80 sitting capacity din which made me think that most of their stores do. The biggest one they have daw which has 3 function rooms was in Quezon Avenue pa.

I won't discuss the details muna so it will be a surprise to you on how his birthday will go. At least for now, you have an idea on how his cake and invitation will look like along with the theme that I want to use. So now, if I am missing, you know what I am doing ha?! B.U.S.Y

Then my battle for party-planning-stress continues. Any suggestions on anything Mommies?
