Goodbye 2015!!

O.M.G!! I can't believe we have one day left before the 2015 ends! Promise! Di talaga ako makapaniwala that I have to leave 2015 behind and will start a new year ahead! Parang kelan lang kasi, I was counting the days for October when I was really busy then in a blink of an eye, 2016 na! O.M.G talaga! hehehe. Do you guys were like that too?! Or sobrang attached lang talaga ako sa 2015?

Anyway, I am looking back on my 2015 and found out that there were a lot of things happened - good or bad were welcomed wholeheartedly. I wish to discuss to you some of the highlights of this year that's about to end.

January

  • I was able to buy my own domain name as www.itsmommyjen.com. I received a token from this blog so I think the one that needs to be credited for was this blog din. =)
  • Due to lack of time and inspiration, I closed down my Online Business. It was growing big that time and I can't do everything on my own so I have to weigh my options and decided to choose my full time job.
  • I also started my own 52 weeks Money Challenge. I made my own template that suits my salary pattern.

  • January 20th marked my first Anniversary from the company I am working for. =)
  • My Nanny and I decided that she'll be staying in our house although she could always get the chance of going home. But then on the same month, I realized that she's stealing things and food from my house kaya when I had the chance, I told her not to go back anymore.
  • We moved to another apartment when Daryl and I lived together in December but it was in January when I showed the house to you. Pero we went back to the old house in the middle of the year so we could get the bigger house. Currently, we were living with my brother.

February

March

April

  • Daddy celebrated his birthday so I bought him a gift and a birthday cake of course. =)

  • Checked out Jollibee Funtasyland in the afternoon. Sayang lang yung free tickets ko because it was scheduled in the early morning. =(

  • I started to get the confidence in cooking meals for Daryl and Jami.

May

June

  • Daddy's birthday gift was my Hair Treatment which I really wanted even after I gave birth to Jami. Thanks for making this happen Babe! =)

July

August

September

  • Nothing spectacular happened this month although I was really glad I was able to try some new restos and got to meet Elaine from Zomato. =)

October

November

  • I also had my first ever blog project for 3 months. =) Thanks to those who believe in me and my basher/s who leave nasty comments on my blog to improve my statistics. =)
 December

  • We had our second Dentist visit (read here) where Jami had his tooth filling. =)
  • Mommy Bloggers Philippines held it's 'Christmas to Remember' Party at the Linden Suites (which I was yet to blog about). Tambak na ang December ko ng blogposts!
  • I helped my sister in preparation for my niece's 1st birthday. It was so fun DIY-ing the dessert table. Pumayag syang i-blog ko about it so stay tuned for that. =)
  • We were also invited by Coi to Maco's first birthday party. Thank you Maco for having us. I was really glad that I got invited to a personal event from another Mommy friend that I met here in the blog. I felt so special na hindi lang pang online ang friendship diba? =)

I am really having trouble believing that New Year is just around the corner. Those were the things that are listed in my planner that made it to reality although I know there were somethings that I blogged about that didn't make it to the list. Of course I can't write them all here kasi highlights nga diba? Hehehe. I had my goals to be posted here again by start of next year just to remind me from time to time. I failed to do this yata last year (or I can't remember lang). I have no regrets in establishing this blog again after I stopped in 2013 because I can get to review those moments in my life that I can no longer remember.

I would like to thank my family and friends for always being there for me thru ups and downs. Alam nyo naman kung sino-sino kayo. I love you all and I wish we'll all have a bountiful, happy, healthy 2016. To my readers (anonymous and those who were leaving comments) I really appreciate that you had all the patients in the world to read my "corny" blog. This blog has been an extension of myself as this served as my diary too and whatever that comes up my way. I guess I really love to write, tamad lang talaga ako magsulat. Buti na lang computers were invented. Thank you all and I hope you'll be blessed this coming year. Thank you for being there. =)

Jami Loves Mickey Mouse

One of the characters that Jami liked before he turned a year old was Mickey Mouse. Our TV is always set on Disney Junior when he's awake. I get to memorize Hi-5 songs and other characters like Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Sofia the first, Timmy Time, Pocoyo and Pororo. He loves them all. There were times that the Disney Junior birthday song will be played and he gets to memorize the characters shown everytime.

As I said, Mickey was his major favorite when he's younger even until now. Sasabihin pa nyan "watch tayo, Mickey Mamaws". He dances to the tune of Mickey Mouse's opening and ending songs.

When he grew bigger, he started to love Elmo's World where I pretend to be Elmo talking then he'll be the baby that Elmo will ask about their topic for the day. We also got to watch Frozen and he knew Olaf so well. =)

With all this in mind, I can't wait to watch the Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival that is being held now at Aranet Coliseum. I have posted the details and the schedules of the show which is happening from December 24th - January 3rd 2016. Disney Frozen will be there including Olaf which I am sure Jami will love. I am so excited to be there and witness the spectacular show!.

See you there! =)

Press Release: Disney on Ice 2015 - Magical Ice Festival

I remember the days that I loved Barbies and Disney Princesses Cinderella and Snow White. Through the years, I have gone to love Disney Films like Toy Story and Frozen. I loved them more before Jami came since my sister's tv was tuned to Disney Junior everyday because of my nephew. When Jami came, I loved it the most and I started to appreciate Sophia the First, Hi-5 and Elmo's World.

I always see Disney on Ice on TV back in my childhood although I never got the chance to watch them personally. I always wonder? "What is it like?"

This Holiday, The touring show that enchanted audiences from across the globe is back with yet again another exciting run of Disney On Ice at the Big Dome.

Starting December 25 until January 3, Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival will feature magical moments from across the kingdom with a superstar lineup of Disney royalty. See your favorite Disney characters from The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and for the first time ever – the Academy Award® winning and number one animated film of all time Frozen.

“This year’s Disney On Ice is truly magical with Disney properties that are packed with heart and personality. We have princesses that are exuberant and strong-willed, but we’ve also expanded the roles of spirited supporting characters, so that they’re more prominent in the show,” says Producer Nicole Feld.

Expect a spectacular production filled with adventurous and comical segments shared by well-loved Disney princesses Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle, and never-before-seen characters Anna and Elsa!

“We are taking a fresh new spin on how we’re presenting the Disney stories. We are weaving together the four worlds of royal sisters Anna and Elsa, Ariel, Belle and Rapunzel as they each embark on their own epic journey,” says Producer Juliette Feld.

Sing and dance to popular Disney tunes with interactive and playful segments for kids to be led by Disney superstars Mickey and Minnie. Also join Anna as she fearlessly sets off on an epic journey, together with Kristoff and reindeer Sven, to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in perpetual winter. Dazzling costume designs, spectacular set elements, and jaw-dropping stunts are also what make this year’s show even more exhilarating.

In Beauty and the Beast’s “Be Our Guest,” the theatrical elements of the glitzy napkins and silverware costumes will astound audiences. “The costumes are designed to emphasize the overwhelming amount of table décor that appears in the movie. The napkins unfold to increase their size and the forks tower over the heads of the performers. This is a big moment for Belle; the costumes need to reflect that,” says Costume Designer Cynthia Nordstrom.

Moreover, lighting plays a crucial role in giving the overall production a truly magical feel.

“The colors really pull you into the different worlds of the princesses, but it’s how the lights are arranged that command your attention when the characters are performing their acts. For example, when the Daughters of Triton are introduced, the lighting individually highlights each of them. Your eyes follow the spotlights,” says Lighting Designer Sam Doty.

I can't wait to see it Live this time!! Sobrang excited na ako promise!!! =)

Produced by Feld Entertainment, Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival features an astounding display of creativity and talent, with spellbinding Disney stories we have all come to enjoy and love! Buy your tickets early and visit TicketNet website or call 911-5555 for more details.

On Blogging and Bashers

I know I have mentioned here in my blog last year that I decided to continue blogging when I had the chance to see a wonderful blog posts of Mommies that I follow. Those are the days that internet is one of my best friend in searching for answers on parenting. It also became a past time while I don’t have a task at work. I was quite thankful to be included on MommyBloggers Philippines later last year when I saw their website on Top Blogs Ph. I was so lucky to be welcomed and be part of this mommas who has the same passion as mine.

I wasn’t really expecting people to read my blog. If they do, then thank you very much. If not, it’s fine.. Walang pilitan dito. I don’t even ask my family or friends to read my blog. If a stranger chance upon my blog and loved it, then a very big thank you very much ulit ang iooffer ko. I wasn’t expecting anything in return sa blog. Syempre I loved to be invited on events and product reviews, it’s part of what makes blogging fun diba? I get to meet a lot of Mommies that some became friends in real life.

I started sharing my blog posts on my social media just later this year when I have been invited to events left and right. Of course I have to share the event on social media because it’s part of being a media influencer. I am thankful with those anonymous people who appreciate my blog and finds it appropriate to their lifestyle.

I noticed that when I started sharing my blog posts on social media, I have also earned those people who were eager in bringing other people down. Yung mga basher at mga bitter sa buhay na walang ibang gustong gawin kundi manira ng ibang tao. It wasn’t the first time that I received a nasty comment here in my blog. Pinaglagpas ko lang because the person left a comment on my very old blog post (nung dalaga pa ako). I told about it to people who were close to my heart and was told na hayaan na lang at baka sikat na ako kaya may bashers na. Hahahah!

After a month or so, I received another nasty comment here.

Di ko maintindihan kung bakit pero I find it really funny. That anonymous would spend his/her time going to my blog just to leave comments like that. Akala naman nya, masisira nya ang araw ko. Look, just so you understand, every time you stalk my blog or even comment here, dinadagdagan mo lang ang page views ko which make it more appealing sa future clients ng blog na ito. The more comments on each of my blog posts, the more dadami ang pageviews ko, the more na mabibigyan ako ng chances to grow my blog even bigger.

Supposedly, hindi ako mag popost about it. Baka kasi ma misinterpret mo na affected ako. Pero para na rin sa kapakanan mo, ipapaalam ko sayo na you are free to leave a comment here. I still allow anonymous because I care for those who leave comments na kahit hindi ako kilala personally, they see the beauty in my blog.

All I can say is THANK YOU -  for making me continue blogging with all your nasty comments.

Jami's First Dental Visit

We finally had the chance to visit the dentist!!

Yes.. I have been writing about Jami’s first dentist visit on my planner for couple of months already but we always have an event or an errand to do so it has been pushed back until November 28th. Jami has an HMO covering the dental check ups and some minor procedures so I took him to an accredited clinic in SM Center Las Pinas.

Jami has a total of 16 teeth as of this writing. I badly want to bring him to the dentist because I am quite worried with his front teeth. There’s a small stain in one of his front teeth and I am thinking that it might start tooth decay.

The dentist we visited is not a Pedia Dentist although she’s willing to check up on Jami.

I instructed Jami to sit on the chair pero when the dentist was adjusting the height of the chair, natakot sya so I told the dentist that I’ll sit na lang on the chair then I’ll carry Jami. Pumayag naman ang dentist and had Jami’s teeth examined. All she said after was, “Okay naman po sya”. Except his front teeth na may stain and will soon start to decay, I was told that we need to put a dental filling on it to avoid further damage on the teeth. I hesitated at first about having to put a filling on so we asked to have a cleaning na lang muna. Halfway the cleaning, ayaw na ni Jami na mag open ng mouth and wants to go out na. I tried to stop him and do all my best to convince him to stay pero ayaw nya na talaga so I told the dentist that we’ll go back na lang the next Monday although I was very hesitant that Jami would still want to sit there when we go back.

Having those thoughts in mind, I had a chat with my sister and was told about her dentist. She’s been telling me about it but then we’re not sure if she’s HMO accredited. My sister said I could ask thru their Facebook page naman so I sent them a message. To my delight, she said they do accept our cards so I immediately set an appointment.

Our appointment was 1pm but arrived 1:30pm because we had a hard time looking for parking slot. Wala palang parking yung building where the clinic is situated. You have to park pala dun sa Festival Mall which is in front lang naman so it’s fine. You just have to walk your way back to the building. We reached the 4th floor where the clinic was and found out that we’re the only client dahil thru appointment nga.

I told her that I wanted to have Jami’s teeth examined and that I worry about his front teeth. Jami still declined to sit on the chair so I sat first then he sat on my lap na lang. Since ako lang ang kasama ni Jami, I wasn’t able to take photos of the clinic. It was a small unit pero very maaliwalas. Dr. Joy checked Jami’s teeth and gave me some feedback.

photo from their facebook page

Jami’s front teeth is weak na daw because he still drink milk thru feeding bottle. It has stain on it that will start the decay if not treated immediately. One of his molar naman has a black stain na din and is starting to decay na although very small pa lang naman ang stain. I originally thought that the black dot on his molar was a chocolate left so I started to brush that teeth a little longer pero andun pa din. Yun pala, nag uumpisa na din. She suggested na ipa dental filling yung molar which will cost me a extra since she'll be using a different type of filling.

She started cleaning Jami’s teeth again, dental filling for his molar and had an ultra something to clean of the stain from his front teeth. Sorry, I forgot yung sinabi nyang procedure na ginawa sa front teeth.

Anyway, I am really glad about the service. It was way better than the first dentist we went to. Jami's teeth was pearly white after the procedure and the stain on his front teeth has been removed as well although I was told it will go back if he eats more of dark food like chocolates etc. Dra Joy talked to Jami about what she was doing that behaved Jami during the procedure. She also explained to me very well about her findings and what were the procedure that needs to be done. For me kasi, yun yung mga magagaling na doctors/dentists eh. Yun bang ipapaliwanag nila sayo mabuti yung mga bagay na nangyayari at mga dapat mong malaman para mas maintindihan mo yung mga bagay na kailangan nilang gawin sayo.

We were looking to put fluoride to Jami’s teeth however, it costs P3,200. That’s P200/tooth multiplied by 16. I said hindi ko ata keri to pay that much since I was expecting that it’ll be a little lesser. I was advised that since we cleaned Jami’s teeth, it’ll be best to put a fluoride na but I insisted that we’ll be back when we have the money. Although I had cash that moment, I have to think twice with how much I am willing to pay. Cleaning was covered by our HMO along with dental filling pero she used a different type of filling that’s child friendly so I have to pay an extra P800.

I am a little sad na I failed to accomplish the fluoride part but then at least I know kung anong lagay ng mga ngipin ni Jami. As much as possible, I want Jami to practice proper hygiene and how to take care of his teeth at an early age. Yung iba kasi, they were saying na kesyo hindi pa naman daw permanent teeth yun. Still, I want him to get confident in visiting the dentist and as much as possible, maalagaan yung baby teeth nya until it’s ready na mapalitan ng permanent teeth.

My next step is to actually look for a dentist that can provide us a not so expensive fluoride or kapag mejo nakaipon, I’ll go back to Dra. Joy since I am so impressed with her service and the sincerity of her concerns to her patients. I would want to have mine checked as well hopefully next year. =)
