World Chicken RCBC Plaza, Makati

Last friday, team Legals went on a lunch break treat at RCBC Plaza in Makati. It was a 5 minute walk from our office so we braved the night to get to our target restaurant.

It has been planned for a week and we were so glad we finally made it happen. We asked our schedules to have lunch all together at 7pm. It was a late lunch but super worth the wait. =)

We checked in Zomato any restaurants near us and we found RCBC Plaza. Along the way, we have decided to eat at North Park in Ayala Avenue but last minute changed our mind. We have finally agreed on World Chicken.

I personally had the chance to try World Chicken years ago with my sister but I honestly didn't enjoy my dine there (it was in Mall of Asia). During those time, I don't appreciate new food talaga. hehe!

Anyhow, we asked one of our officemate to go before us so we can order our food na. We gave the list of our orders since I have read in Zomato reviews that there times that the store runs out of their sidings. Good thing, it was passed dinner time and rush hour so we had the whole store by ourselves. =)

It was near their closing time
World Chicken offers a bone-less chicken then you'll get to choose your sauce over your chicken and 2 sidings.

Bacon Rice with Chicken in Teriyaki sauce plus Cheese muffin
I had their Teriyaki sauce for my chicken then Bacon Rice plus cheese muffin for my sidings. I wasn't that hungry talaga but I didn't like pasta so I opted for the muffin na lang. I had water for drinks. I failed to take pictures of my officemate's food. Nahiya kasi ako gutom na gutom na sila hahaha!

Verdict:

Pros:

1.) I love the chicken. It was really tender and the Teriyaki sauce that I choose tasted great with the chicken. Somehow, their teriyaki sauce reminds me of peanut butter. I don't know how this sauce was made honestly. :p

2.) The Bacon Rice was good too. It was an ulam itself so for me, the chicken in Teriyaki sauce complemented the bacon rice. It's as if I had 2 ulam in one plate. The cheese muffin was a little dry for me. Little lang naman promise! Or maybe I was really full by then I was just trying to finish what's in my plate.

3.) For the price of Php181 for these, (without drinks) I think it's a good deal already. I was so full after meal and even after several hours after I ate. I guess it's a good alternative for unlimited rice meals. Haha! Or I just have a small to medium appetite?

4.) Staff were friendly. I had the chance to joke around with them while I was taking picture of the store front. I am not sure if the food were served on time since I had an officemate to go there before us.

Cons:

1.) The store was really small. Well I guess most of food stores in RCBC was really small to dine in. It's a turn off for me since I can imagine myself being there during lunch or dinner time with a lot of people dining in. There's a very limited space to move. I hope they can do something about it. As far as I can remember their store in Mall of Asia was small too but not in a suffocating level.

2.)  I hate their tables. It's moving while we were eating. Have you tried eating on a table na panay ang galaw? Haha! We were joking around because we may not notice, nasa dulo na pala kami ng resto because the table keeps on moving side to side.

Overall, I can't agree more that I enjoyed the food. I guess I had a wrong choice of sidings back then kaya I never went back. I was so glad I gave it another try after all those years of waiting. I kept on seeing World Chicken in Mall of Asia and I can't wait to dine there with Daryl anytime soon. I even mentioned to him that we'll eat there sometime. =)

Meet team Legals ( Euclid, Joyce, Lyden and Baby K) carbs on carbs on carbs. Hahah!

Passport Application at DFA-South

Couple of months ago, my sister offered that she'll get Jami a passport so that I can come with Nanay inside DFA. Nanay wasn't familiar with government id's application including passports. I immediately said yes since Jami will have a sponsor na. Hehe.

Anyway, we booked our second appointment at DFA website on July 24th. Our first appointment didn't go through since Nanay lacks a lot of requirements. She doesn't have any government ids except her Voter's ID and Postal ID(old). She was asked to get NBI Clearance, Police Clearance and Barangay Clearance as a supporting documents. She also needs her Marriage contract from NSO (which I failed to check ahead of time, my fault). On that same day, I wanted to accomplish everything so we can go back before the office closes.

However, Nanay no longer wish to push through so we opted to accomplish everything on another day. Well, for your information, in case you were asked to get some documents, you can always go back to DFA office on the same time of your appointment everyday for a month. Since I was busy, we never had the chance to go back (I filed a vacation leave in the office for this actually) for the whole month.

By then, we booked another appointment so we could finally get everything. Unfortunately, Nanay was asked to get her Baptismal record since her birth was late registered. Jami's application has long been approved but I never push through the next step on our first appointment until Nanay would have hers done. But then, I opted to finish Jami's application on our second attempt since I can no longer be late nor file a leave in the office just to finish everything.

Well, my sister got mad kasi nga ang purpose ng pag sponsor nya ng passport ni Jami was to mainly get Nanay's passport. On my part, I pretty much trust Nanay that she knows what to do when she's there na. I have fully explained to her what she has to do before I paid everything for Jami. Nanay contacted her sister in Ilo-ilo so her baptismal record could be released. After a week or so of waiting, I went with Nanay to see if her Baptismal record would be enough requirement to finally process her passport application. I waited on the lower floor while she went up. I was checking on her from where I stand to see if she's been assisted. I was just surprise that she went down easily and happily said na ok na daw. Hayyy.. Finally.

Since we had her passport filed on a Saturday, it was automatically a rush process for P1,200 while Jami had the regular process of P950. Since Jami was more than 12months, he has to go to the same process of having an appointment.

Here are the list of things that you need to bring with you on the day of your appointment.

1.) Application form. Print your application form that was email-ed to you when you filled an appointment. It is very necessary since guards will check this before you can go inside DFA-South.

2.) Government ID's and Papers. Such as SSS, PRC, Driver's License. You can also bring secondary ID's like Voter's ID, Postal ID etc. You may check here for additional list of IDs and other relevant papers.

3.) Personal Appearance. Your presence is the most important of them all. Of course hindi maipa process your application unless you're there. You don't have to bring a passport size ID picture with you since this will all be part of biometrics. For baby or kids applicants below 18yo, the presence of the either the parent is important as well.

Anyway, here's your step by step guide for people in the south who chose to file their passport application in DFA-South.

1.) Their office is located at 4th floor Metro Gaisano (beside Alabang Town Center).

2.) The elevator going up the 4th floor has security guards. They will check your application paper if you really had the rights to go upstairs. Only one companion is allowed for Senior Citizen and children.

3.) As soon as you get to the next floor. There were chairs provided so everyone could take a seat while waiting for their turn. There were places for everyone depending on their appointment time.

4.) Once your time of appointment is called, a line will be formed so everyone could enter the DFA office accordingly. Another guard will check your application form and requirements and would ask you to form a line going to the reception table which is basically just in front of you, but with the volume of people, you would surely have to fall in line.

5.) As soon as you reach the reception table, your requirements will be thoroughly checked. You will be told of what things/requirements you still need before you proceed. If successful, a number queu will be attached on your form and requirements.

6.) On your right, there'll be a window queue where you have to form another line to reach one of the windows. For senior citizen and with child companion, you have to ask the security guard going around so he could let you know where to go. There's a courtesy window given to such. For those who doesn't fall in that category, you may need to fall in line, don't worry, there's a line of chairs waiting for you. =)

7.) It only takes 30 minutes for the whole process if you have all requirements ready (for babies and senior citizen applicantsonly. For those who doesn't fall on those category will depend on the volume of people but pretty much everything is in sync with everybody so you can go to each step faster).
8.) There's a photocopy machine inside so there's no need to go out in cases that you'll be asked to photocopy your IDs.

9.) No lines for cashier and biometrics. Everything went smooth for us.

10.) Release section is on a different room that has no lines either.

In total, I was really happy that DFA-South was organized. Given they have a very small place compared to DFA-Aseana, I won't mind since hindi dagsa ang tao. There were a lot of securities around as well kaya hindi magulo.

Now here's our little pogi baby on his passport picture.

This is the best photo that the biometric person can take. On his first photo kasi, he was really grumpy nakasimangot to the max. haha! So I asked if we could take more photos (photoshoot lang??) haha.. Buti mabait si kuya. =)

I can't wait to use our passports for our travel. Sana soon na.. =) For those who want to file a passport application, you may go to DFA website. Everything you need will be there including the requirements you need to bring with you. =)

Banana Leaf Glorietta 3

Last Friday, I was really lucky to be invited by Elaine of Zomato, to mainly discuss about the company and how it works. I started Zomato couple of months ago and I guess, based on the last post I had there was 2 months ago.

Anyway, we had our lunch at Banana Leaf in Greenbelt 3. I know it wasn't my first time there pero hindi lang ako familiar in the place so I have to ask directions pa. I was also an hour late from our call time because of the terrible traffic in Las Pinas.

I was just so glad that Elaine patiently waited for me. Hehe! Thanks Elaine!! =)

We have just discussed some things about Zomato and was so glad that I made the right decision to sign up back then. I know I haven't been blogging about food lately and well, anything in general actually. I was pretty busy so I felt guilty leaving my account untouched for 2 months. I have eaten somewhere else pero I wasn't really able to touch my Zomato account.

Moving forward, Elaine ordered for me since I wasn't familiar with the food. I trusted she knows what she's going to order since she's been to a lot of foodie meetups. Here's what she got for the both of us.

I forgot the name of this appetizer. It was paired with a curry sauce.
Nasi Goreng and Deep Friend Pandan Chicken

Our food =)
Verdict:

Pros:

1.) The place is really convenient if you're in Greenbelt area na. From elevator, you can see it on your right side. The store is a little small for me so it can get a little crowded on lunch time, I guess. We were there around 12pm so people were coming in to take their lunch breaks. I also love their seats. Very comfy paired with nice food. =)

2.) The appetizer was served immediately and it tasted great (forgot the name of the food). I bet it's lovelier when served hot (I took with me some of the left overs and it wasn't that good since it's cold na. My officemate said it tasted like hilaw na lumpia wrapper na. The curry sauce was good too.

3. ) I have tasted Nasi Goreng in 101 Hawker's Food house but I loved Banana Leaf's Nasi Goreng more. It was really tasty! Kanin pa lang, ulam na! One plate can serve 2-3 person's but maybe 1-2 if you're really hungry. Pandan Chicken tasted like a normal fried chicken (without breading). It was a perfect match with their Nasi Goreng.

4.) I love that you will get to eat in Banana leaf talaga! I am not sure if it's my first time pero ang sarap lang hehe!  Service was also great, crews were really friendly. I also like their outfits/uniforms. I am not sure if they change it from time to time but when I was there, I love the details of their dress. They looks so formal and sosyal.

5.) I was surprise that their food wasn't that expensive.

Cons:

1) I wasn't really comfortble because sobrang lapit ng table to each other. I felt the next tables can hear what we were talking about and vice versa.

2.) I was so distracted with the color of the lights dun sa may counter nila. It was yellowish. I don't know if it was just me pero I don't like it. Distracting lang. Although I love the interior in total.

3.) I can't remember it clearly but the lighting was a little dull for me, parang malabo. Maybe it was intended to be like that. I wonder how their lighting is at night.

In total, I enjoyed our dine in experience here in Banana Leaf. I actually thought it was sort of refreshments shop. Hehe! Anyway, I can't wait to let Daryl taste their Nasi Goreng. I know he'll love it like I did. =)

Serenitea at SM Southmall

Couple of months ago, I bought a voucher from Deal Grocer. This was to try Milk Teas. I am really curious how it tastes. Despite the breaking news of a lady and the owner of the milk tea who died by drinking the milk teas, I still wanted to give them a try.

I never get the chance to use the voucher until last weekend after we brought Jami to his pedia.

Making kulit while waiting for our turn
I asked Daryl if we could go to SM Southmall so I can use my Serenitea voucher. He said yes since wala naman sya magagawa hahahaha! Thanks Babe.

SM Southmall is being renovated so I am no longer familiar with some of the stores that just opened. Wait, side kwento lang! I am really impressed in SM Southmall, months ago, they opened a Forever 21 store and Uniqlo. Now they are soon going to open H&M and Mango! Wow, sumashala levels na ang SM Southmall talaga. Haha! For sure kung wala pa akong anak, malamang dun na ako nakatira every payday. =)

Anyway, it wasn't my first time to try Milk tea talaga. I had a chance to try one when we had our stop over in NLEX the last time we went to Pangasinan. Before going back to the car, we passed by Mang Chaa Milk Tea. To my eagerness to try a milk tea, I have decided to buy one since hindi naman expensive - around P70 only.

That photo was taken last Friday at SMX as my sister and I visited the sort of travel expo.

Mang Chaa Wintermelon Milk Tea with Pearl
Went crazy over cheap seat sale for Batanes. Pero fail ang mission. Hehe
Going back, we went to SM Southmall. I wasn't quite familiar on the lower level due to the newly established restos there. I have to check them next time, I guess.

Serenitea is in front of the elevator beside Bowling Center. I was surprised to see they weren't just a stall but a physical store where you can sit down, read a book while enjoying your milk tea.

When I enter the store, I can smell teas. Thinking about it makes me crave for wintermelon again. I guess that's my favorite drink as of the moment. There were a lot of people waiting for their orders too. Since it's my first time to try them, I wasn't quite familiar with their menu. I was so glad that when it was my turn, nawala yung mga tao. Hahah! I took my time checking their menu while the crew checked my voucher.

I know I'll get their Wintermelon Milk tea so I asked Daryl what he wanted to try. He's not familiar with milk teas to so I am in charge in giving him something that he might like. Hmm... I ran out of ideas talaga, we're not a tea drinker so I don't have a single idea on what would taste great. I asked the crew of their best seller and he offered to try Okinawa. Hmm,., Sounds interesting so I said Yes. Hehe!

Wefie while waiting for our order. Look how payat Jami became after being sick for the last couple of weeks. =(
Then our order came.

1 Wintermelon in Large with Pearls and Grass Jelly
1 Okinawa with Pearl
2 Hash Browns

I originally ordered Wintermelon with Pearl. I added the grass jelly for P10 since my order's short for my voucher's amount. When my order came, grass jelly lang and walang pearl yung wintermelon ko! Parang gusto kong maiyak pero hindi na ako nag reklamo pa. The kuya looked really pressured because it sounded like hindi nya alam kung paano iki key in ang voucher on his system then humahaba na ang line sa likod ko.

Verdict:

Pros:

1.) I love the interior of their store. I can imagine myself enjoying my wintermelon while reading/blogging.  The smell of tea is very relaxing too although it can get a little crowd kapag
2.) Okinawa tasted like Wintermelon so I could consider that next time I'll order. I think their Wintermelon tasted the same with Mang Cha-a mas sweeter lang ang sa Mang Cha-a.
3.) Using my Deal Grocer voucher with them was a breeze. I just have to present my voucher and sign the paper, that's it.
4.) I was surprised that they have hash browns so I ordered two. Daryl liked their Hash brown because it's flavorful though I found it too salty for Jami.

Cons:

1.) I should have enjoyed my drink more kung nakinig si kuya sa order ko.
2.) Hash brown was so flavorful bagay lang sa tea but I wish hindi sobrang salty.

Anyway, I loved how my short visit in Serenitea went. I think they're on sale again at Deal Grocer so I guess I'll buy another one. You'll never know when you need to buy a milk tea during mall hours. Hehe. =)

Midweek Thoughts

I can't believe it's September!

Time flies really fast no?! Parang kelan lang, January pa lang.

Anyway, I have a lot of kwento actually pero dahil sa hindi ko ma identify kung anong uunahin ko, hindi ko tuloy maumpisahan..

Well, currently, Jami still have coughs. He's very cranky because he's coughing really bad. If he's condition don't get better, I'll bring him again to his pedia this coming weekend.

Taken last week at Serenitea Store in SM Southmall
Also, check out my new top!! Got it from my personal favoruite ukay - ukay store that we frequent. It's P60 so it all made it better =)

I paired it with my Terrnova Tight Jeans and a Belt from Cole Vintage
As of the moment, we are on process of getting our ac installed so Jami could sleep better  I noticed from when we moved from the old new house, he got sickly. I think we really have to install the ac na because at night, pawis na pawis si Jami kahit dalawa na ang electric fan namin. I came to realize na ang mahal pala magpakabit ng ac. Hayyy..

Happy midweek guys!!

Jami's Sick

Hi guys, sorry for not posting any updates ha?! I was kinda busy with crochet kasi eh. hehehe! I was so addicted to it so instead of taking photos of the things I'll be blogging about, nauuwi sa pagko crochet. hehehe!

Aside from that, Jami is really getting sickly nowadays. Probably because of the weather na din natin - sobrang init sa tanghali then uulan sa gabi. Last month, he got sick. He had fever with colds. We also took him to ER in San Juan De dios Hospital to make sure that he wasn't sick because of his really big bukol sa noo. He was so makulit so nahulog ata sa bed ni Tita Frualene nya. We were told naman that the interval of his bukol and his fever was a little far away na to consider it being critical. We weren't asked to have CT scan na because his activity never changed. He was sick because of colds so viral lang naman.

He got better after couple of days pero he got sick na naman last week. He had cough naman after his colds. His cough looks worst pero the doc said that his lungs are clear so mainly bacterial daw. WE bought the prescribed antibiotic that he'll take for the next 7 days starting today. I am hoping that he'll get better anytime soon.

What makes me really sad is, sobrang laki ng pinayat ni Jami. I can see his bones na bumabakat na sa katawan nya. One thing that doesn't change is his weight. It stays the same kahit sobrang pigil sa pagdede dahil sa kakaubo nya. That's my reference na lang not to get to panic since he maintains his weight.

We had our check up yesterday and good thing he's not getting fever na. Again, we were given antibiotics now, meds for cough and anti-histamine. When his colds gets worst, we'll give him meds for colds na. Nakakaawa because he doesn't want to drink his meds but I insist, mas nakakaawa kasi kapag hindi nakainom ng gamot eh. Jami was so clingy din. Wala ng ginawa kung

Jami: "Mommy.. Mommy... Sama.. Sama... Mameeeeee.... Hug.. Hug.. Hug" (repeat 100x).

Honestly, I am tired pero I loved it. Very demanding nya and always looking for me. Malayo lang ng slight, tumayo lang, "Mommy, Si dan (sit down)". I know sooner or later, ayaw na magpa baby nyan so habang feel na feel pa nya, pagbigyan. Hehe =)

That's all for now and I promise to show you my artwork. hehe! See you guys soon!
