How to Take Care of you Baby's First Tooth

At 9 months old, James started teething. It was quite funny because we always tease him that he can sit on his own, crawl fast and walk with guidance but still, no sign of a tooth ready to show up. I think I have mentioned before that there was this baby boy na nakasabay namin sa train ng MRT that is the same age of James but this baby has a total of 4 teeth -  2 up and 2 down. Nainggit ako ng slight but as I said, it doesn't matter if it will take a while. There's no pressure after all. Parang pagpapapayat ko lang yan eh, no pressure at all. Hahaha #majubispadin.

I have noticed that James' gums started to swell a bit followed by his endless biting of anything that he touches or anything that would go close to his mouth. Sometimes, even my hand and arms will do. He'll bite, bite, bite endlessly. Probably that causes him having bacteria inside his tummy that resulted to confinement ( read here ) . There were a lot of toys that he puts inside his mouth before he got sick. Since then, all toys were kept away from James. When he touches something, I let him but on his act on putting it inside his mouth, pinipigilan ko na agad.

James at Krispy Kreme store in SM Megamall during our 2nd Dad's Team eat out.
When we had our check up for his cough and cold ( read here ), I asked Dra. Alarcio if it's because he is teething kaya sya nagtatae. Well, as she said, somehow it is, kasi the gums were kind of itchy so they try to lessen it by biting then most of the time, they would acquire some sort of virus or bacteria that causes them para magtae. For sure you have heard the 'old wives tale' na nagtatae sila because of their teething which now I know isn't the case. It was the bacteria or virus that is on the things that they touches and put inside their mouth ( read here ).

Anyhoo, I just want to share with you some photos of his tooth. I just don't know if you'll be able to see it kasi whenver I try to take a photo, ihaharang nya yung tongue nya. Like this,

See what I am saying? I also have to put  a flash kasi if not, ang likot naman nya so blurred naman yung photo.

This is the best photo that I can get. Can you see that little white tooth over there? Hehe. Small pa lang pero ang cute cute ng tingnan. I am so happy na meron ng isa kasi what my sister told me is that sunod-sunod na daw yung iba na lalabas. I can't wait to see those 4 first set of teeth. For sure mag iiba ang mukha nya because of having teeth na.Pero Mommies, di ako nawawalan ng pag - asa, I'll take another photo para mas makita nyo. I have noticed kasi earlier this morning when he was smiling na mejo mas mataas na yung tooth compared sa nasa photo na 'to. I'll show it to you soon!! =)

I am so giddy when I found out that he's having his first tooth. I am sure all moms out there will do, specially those first time Mommies. With that, we have a greater responsibility of taking care of them most specially sa teeth nila diba? You know, it was quite a challenge for me thinking on how I would make James like brushing his tooth when it grows a little more. My teeth were kind of messed up so I want to make sure that James would grow up taking care of his teeth lalo na pag permanent teeth na nya yung lalabas. Matagal pa naman yun so for now, I'll think about his baby teeth. I have been reading online on how to properly take care of their teeth which I will list down for first time Mommies like me and Moms-to-be.

1. Cleaning of teeth. It is very important to clean our baby's mouth/gums even before the tooth shows. A clean cloth or gauze can be used with water, wrap on index finger then gently rub on baby's gums. You don't need any toothpaste yet. This part has a long term goal as it will make it easier for the baby and you to transition to tooth brush later on.

What we usually do is to clean James' tongue and gums with a cloth during bath time to remove any milk residue on his mouth. I have not seen James having those residues until now as we make sure that he drinks water every after feeding to rinse out the remaining milk.

 2. Transition to Toothbrush. There are a lot of toothbrushes that supermarkets offer, regardless of your preferred brand, you need a toothbrush that has a small head and a grip that's suitable in your hand. Use a tiny amount of fluoride toothpaste. As per Babycenter.com, you may brush their tooth/teeth twice a day. Brush the inside and outside of each of you baby's teeth as well as the tongue to remove the bacteria that causes bad breath. You don't have to rinse because you are only using a small amount of toothpaste.

I haven't had the chance to brush his little tooth yet as it was just now that it got a little over his gums. I have seen a silicon toothbrush that you can wear on your index finger. I am sure you have seen that too when you were shopping for your baby's stuff. I have this at home too that was handed to me by my sister though I have not used it to James yet. I forgot to check the price of it, maybe this weekend. =)

3. Food while teething. Now that they are starting to grow their teeth, you have to make sure to avoid any sweets and starchy food as this can contribute to tooth decay. Also, don't put your baby to sleep with bottle of milk, juice and sweetened liquid. This feeds the bacteria that causes tooth decay. It can also happen to a breastfed baby that has a pooling milk around his teeth when they go to sleep.

I was so pissed one time seeing James eating lollipop!! Imagine?? Lollipop for 9 month old baby! OMG. I was so annoyed I immediately took it from James and throw it. I had him drink his water to rinse of the taste. Since it was too sweet, James' seemed to enjoy it but I don't. As much as possible, I don't want James having sweets yet or anything like junk food. I am trying my best to avoid my relatives to give him one although it annoys me thinking that they might give one when I am at work. Arrgh!!Hope not!

4. Fluoride. This is a mineral that strengthens the tooth enamel and making our teeth resistant to acids and harmful bacteria preventing tooth decay. Your baby can have a little fluoride through their milk if the water used for it contains these. Too much of fluoride though, will cause fluorosis which causes a white spot on your baby's adult teeth so you have to make sure to use only a tiny amount of toothpaste until they learn to rinse and spit it out.

I have seen my nephews using a specialized toothpaste for kids that are available in groceries too. I haven't had the chance to check its content. I'll let you know for sure if I'll do. =)

5. Meeting the Dentist. It is ideal to bring your child to a dentist by his first birthday to check any problem that your pediatrician can't diagnose. This will also help to identify if their tooth are coming in normally and this will surely give comfort to your baby in visiting dentists often as they will get use to seeing them.

Since James will have a health card coming from the company I am working with, I am planning to bring him to a dentist when he turns 1. I want him to get used in visiting the dentist because I didn't. You know that feeling of being shy and intimidated. Haha. I don't want him to feel that way so I'll do my best to make sure James would have a nice set of teeth.

Honestly, I have a very limited information and experience in oral care so I really have to step up for James. I want him to learn to take care of his teeth and have a better information about it. So help me, GOD. =)

How about you Mommies? How do you take care of your babies tooth/teeth?

Review | The Goodbox PH Meals

When I was younger, I have always been the healthy one, okay! I mean chubby. I have reached high school being the "mataba" and shapeless. I got sick for a week when I was in sophomore so I loose quite enough weight until I graduated from secondary school.

I noticed that I lost more weight after high school when I started to have a boyfriend and lost another kilo when I went in college. I had Volleyball, Tennis, Aerobics and Gymnastics class for our Physical Education subject which I would say made me fit the entire time. I didn't realize I was that sexy na back then.

I started working in December 2008 where graveyard shift and innocence in the new environment made me eat only hotdog sandwich on my lunch breaks. Later on, as I stayed in the same industry, I never realized I have started to gain pounds little by little because of everyday snacks and meals from fast food chains around the office. Given that I only sit and face my computer for 8 and a half hours a day made me gain so much weight. Although I still find myself manageable wearing Medium size clothes and size 28 jeans, I continued my very unhealthy lifestyle. Since I stayed in graveyard for almost 4 years, my body clock has changed completely to the point that it no longer recognize the right time to eat. There were times that I won't eat and there were these times that I eat on a time where everybody is asleep. It kind of made my body and metabolism weird resulting to a noticeable belly.

Months before I got pregnant with James, I still eat unhealthy food though I started doing aerobics at home, alone. I was thinking that I might loose some significant weight given that I am working out from time to time. Before I found out that I had James, I ate a lot. I didn't realize I was craving for food because I was pregnant. I said to myself that as soon as I get my period, I'll start my aerobics again to lessen the carbs that I gained. Luckily, my period never came but a beautiful creature that changed my life upside down.

Now, at 9 months post partum, I still feel me being 4 months pregnant. Ang laki pa rin kasi ng tyan ko eh. =( I hold on to the plan of going to the gym because I want to focus my expenses with James first aside from the fact that I have plenty of time to get back to my old body. I have read somewhere that we should give credits to our body as it did a great job in supplying nutrition and became our baby's first home from the time we were pregnant so it also needs ample time to go back to it's pre-pregnancy state. But I guess, it is on a case to case basis. There were some Mommies who were able to go back to their pre-pregnancy state months after giving birth while some really have to exert more effort on it. Unfortunately, I was one of those na hindi masyadong mapalad na ipinanganak na sexy hehehe. =)

It's not new to you guys that I am one picky - eater and mostly anti veggie if I may say so it is really hard for me to go on a diet. Aside from the fact that I don't know how to make a healthy food, I also don't know how much calories intake I have everyday. It was quite tricky to find out where to start and what to do honestly so I always give up on thinking about how my body looks like now.

Heaven sent, Mommy Bloggers Philippines asked interested Mommies to sign up for a sampler in collaboration with The Goodbox Ph, I didn't waste a singleminute, I signed myself up. I was so excited to give it a try as this will be a new milestone for me. Hehe. Imagine how I really wanted to get fit and loose those pregnancy fats everywhere? At the same time, I would like to experiment more on food. I like to try varieties now which I regret to do so when I was younger. Before I share my experience with The Goodbox, let me share to you some things you should now about them.

So why The Goodbox?

Healthy, nutritious food in the meal plan of your choice is available at your convenience, 5 days a week (Monday - Friday). Our meal plans consist of 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400 and 2700 calorie menus; each meticulously planned with proper proportions of fat, carb and protein by our in-house nutritionist and chefs for a balanced meal. We also make sure that every meal has the nutrients your body needs to keep itself fueled throughout the day. Whether you are trying to lose weight, maintain it, or even gain some, there is just no excuse to not eat healthy! - from their website.

Why do I need to Count my Calories?

While physical activity is a vital part of weight control, so is controlling the number of calories you eat. If you consume more calories than you use through normal daily activities and physical activity, you will still gain weight. - Under their website's FAQ'.

Ayun naman pala!!

I was sent a 1200kcal meal for the day. It arrived Thursday night to make sure that your food will stay as fresh as possible although they do offer 2 delivery schedule whichever is convenient for you. You definitely have to put it in the fridge for the night then have your meal started the next morning. I was so giddy to see the meal I was sent though I am quite nervous of it as this would be my very first time to try these kinds of food. As all you know, I rely on my comfort food.

Since James and I were still in the hospital (read here), I wasn't able to eat it the next day as I was not aware that it arrived. My sister was quite forgetful, pardon the age. Hehe. I kept it refrigerated and have it consumed the next day. I was expecting for it to spoil but to my surprise it didn't. Thank God. =)

So here it is.

Actually, it is sent with a blue ecobag but my sister removed it so she can place it on the fridge. It was doubled by this biodegradable plastic bag. Oh! You also have the option to return the ecobag to the delivery man for your next delivery! Go green!! =)

This paper was attached on the ecobag as your guide for your healthy meal. There's another copy inside the plastic bag in case this one got lost. Your meals are being placed on a microwavable/reusable plastic containers for your convenience in re-heating the food. On each food, there's a label where it indicates if you have to heat or chill the food that will serve as your guide before eating them.

Breakfast
Mixed Vegetable and Cheese Sandwich
Coffee
Fruit
360kcal

I started my breakfast at around 8am. I really liked the sandwich! It has cheese and mixed vegetable inside. I can surely taste the crunchiness of the veggies but I can't stop biting because for me it was really good. Coming from a picky eater/anti-veggie, I felt it's for a record - a new milestone! Lol. The fruit was great too. It says on the label to keep it cool which I did because I want fruits that are cold.

I felt really full after consuming the whole breakfast. It's as if I ate rice with viand. I have realized that I can even eat this during lunch kasi sobrang nakakabusog. My eyes tricked me, I thought kasi baka maghanap pa ako ng makakain after. I'm truly wrong. I only drink half of the coffee kasi I am really not a coffee person. It upsets my tummy kasi eh but for sure for those who likes coffee would absolutely enjoy this. =)

Is it obvious with the big bite? Hehe. Can you spot Mr. Makulit? He's having his breakfast too.. The remote control. Hahaha. I just notice that now.

Needs Improvement:
I don't prefer coffee as it upsets my stomach. I like juices more but I'll definitely give them this as you have the option to add special requests/comments/suggestions upon booking of your meal by clicking the orange "Make Contact" Tab.

AM Snack:
Fresh Homemade Smoothie
150kcal

This homemade smootie I think was lychee though I am not quite sure. It tastes like the lychee jelly ace that I tasted eh. I drank just half because I am still full from the brekky. I had it around 10:30am.

Needs Improvement: There should be a label as to what fruit it was. It only written as Fresh Homemade Smoothie. It could give a better impression knowing the content of the drink.

Lunch:
Nutty Chicken Penne
Salad
300kcal

Now, Lunch was really a challenge for me because of the salad. Hahaha. I found the meal not appealing because I don't eat this kind of food eh. However, I thought of it as a challenge of getting fit and healthy so I gave it a try. I was surprised that the Pasta tastes bland but not bad. I thought it would be salty or creamy, you know like those that are in the restos? Well, It's most likely because there were no preservatives - means all organic. The chicken tastes great though. I felt my tummy is full eating half of the plate pa lang. I also tasted the salad which has a vinaigrette, I think? Sorry. Not really familiar with food. Hehe. I wasn't able to finish the salad anymore because my tummy can no longer accept anymore food.

Baby sitting while having my lunch. Can you Spot James?
Needs Improvement: Nothing in particular

PM Snack:
Oat Cookies
120kcal

I felt hungry around 2pm-ish. I carried James from our house to RFC in Las Pinas then back to SM Southmall. That was our usual pasyal to the mall kasi. The food I ate in lunch might have been turned to energy carrying a 10kgs baby. Good thing, I brought the PM Snack with me so while James is having a nap, I ate the oat cookies. There were 2 of them in one plastic. I felt surprise that the oat cookies tastes good. I am not a fan of oats kasi. It wasn't too sweet nor too bland but very fulfilling compare to my usual afternoon snack of burgers etc.

Needs Improvement: None in particular

Dinner:
Tofu Tacos
Vegetable Sticks
Dip
300kcal

I have never tried tacos with tofu before so this one was quite interesting. Inside the tacos were slices of tofu, veggies and mayo I think? It doesn't taste anything except it has a Salsa dip included. I forgot about the salsa and remembered it after I only have one bite left. Why? because I liked the vegetable sticks specially the dip. Winner talaga yung dip, I even put some inside the tacos which I think gave it a much better taste. Hehe.

I have come to like it too.. Although I felt a little bitin with dinner. Maybe it suppose to be like that as you don't have to eat heavy before bed time diba? I was wondering why I felt bitin in dinner even it has the same calorie content with lunch? Hmm.. Oh I know, maybe because I got so tired after malling with James? You think?

Needs Improvement: None for this meal.

So do I recommend The Goodbox?

Yes. Definitely yes! Come to think of it, You don't have to worry about your healthy meals for 5 days. All you have to do is to choose the calorie amount you prefer, submit and pay your order. What's left? Wait for your food to arrive on your most suitable time. Now how's that?

Wait, did I mention the price?

MEAL PROGRAMS: 5 meals a day, 5 days a week
1200 Calorie Menu – Php 2,750
1500 Calorie Menu – Php 3,000
1800 Calorie Menu – Php 3,250
2100 Calorie Menu – Php 3,500
2400 Calorie Menu – Php 3,750
2700 Calorie Menu – Php 4,000
South Beach Diet - Php 3,000
Special Diet (Diabetic, Gout, Hypertensive, etc) - Calorie price + Php 250

So thinking about having a 1200kcal meal plan like what I had would cost you 550 pesos each day, for a whole day healthy meal. Not bad!!! They also offer a special meal plan to those who want to go diet for Medical Conditions and 5 day Juice Cleanse.

Aside from knowing the right meal program for you, you may check the Average Calorie Requirement by Age, Gender and Activity level Chart here.

Thank you The Goodbox for sharing this healthy meal. =)

Mommy and Jami Bonding + Nappy Rashes Experience

The weekend that past was spent at home. Daddy didn't arrive due to his basketball game which as I have mentioned, I don't want to make pakealam because it was his way of keeping himself sane. You know men can be very likely to dwell on sports on times they would need to gather the pieces of themselves - as a breather kung baga. I am just glad that he doesn't need to use drugs and all to keep his mind intact. Hehe. In return, I want him to become supportive of my blogging because this is my way of keeping my mind in the right track.

Sunday that passed was quite tiring though because I carried James with me going to shop where I had my netbook fixed. Finally guys!!! Ok na ang keyboard nya so I can blog anytime I want, even at home. =)

Anyway, I often hear that Nanay and Nanay Isa were all having a hard time taking care of James. He has a lot of energy kasi eh and the thunders (oldies) can't catch up on him -  even me, he crawls and walks (while holding onto something) very fast. It's tiring for me, what more for Nanay and Nanay Isa diba? So every weekend, I always make sure that I'll be the one to take care of him so I would know the new milestones he have acquired. I am quite happy with his achievement so far though I am not sure if it is being advance, average or late. Well, as long as he is taking his precious time to learn, that is absolutely fine with me. I know he has his own time on things and I want to keep it on his pace, not mine nor someone else's.

Our usual bonding is just playing together, I would tackle him that makes him giggle, watch Hi-5 and Mickey Mouse together, sleep together, and of course feed him. I am looking forward to do more bonding moments with him specially if he's big enough to swim, to run, to bike together (not too late for me to learn it right?) and a lot, lot more.

Mama with Jami bonding

I have posted the last photo on my instagram account @its_mommy_jen with a caption "Humahabol sa lapad ng aking face!! Hehe. So happy to see you going back to your healthy self baby Jami. =) #healthybaby #happymommy #weekendbonding.

Whenever I look at him, grabe parang hindi sya nagkasakit. Although mild lang naman yung dehydration nya, my heart broke when I saw him not comfortable with him vomiting and pooping.

By the way guys, I just want to share this. I was just amazed with Nappy Cream I used for James.

I have already blogged about it before here but still, it never failed to make me wow!! When James had his Acute Gastroenteritis, he has been pooping almost 5 times a day, minsan sobrang konti lang talaga so there were times na hindi agad sya nahuhugasan. I have noticed that whenever I wash him straight in the faucet, he felt uncomfortable and sometimes cries a little. I thought he felt cold dahil sa water. I am no longer using cotton and water like I always do to wash him before kasi he is so malikot to the max na talaga so it always get messy if I use cotton pa. When we were confined and have to use cotton and water ulit to avoid the hassle of going to the restroom carrying him and his dextrose stand, I noticed na sobrang sugat - sugat na pala yung pwet nya, as in. Parang nalapnos na kasi may maliliit na sugat malapit sa pwet hole nya. Naawa talaga ako so I bought the cream na again kasi the one I was using before got expired. Namana ko pa kasi yun sa sister ko eh. After 2 consecutive days of using it, the wounds were gone though the redness remained but very minimal na lang. I can't even see any trace of the wounds, I was so amazed ng bongga.. Hehehe. Until now, I am using it whenever I change his nappy to completely heal the redness. Oh I even used it before sa face ni James when he had butlig butlig sa forehead when he was 4 months old I think. Grabe Mommies sobrang effective and it is really a must - have. =)

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Monday everybody!!

Just wanting to share this lovely smile of my unico hijo to brighten your day too. =)

I posted it in instagram too. You can follow me @its_mommy_jen or you may like my facebook page Its Mommy Jen Blog. Thank you!! =)

I just have one question Mommies. When James wakes up regardless of what time of the day it is, morning nap, afternoon nap or even at night, whenever he wakes up, he cries. I can't understand why. What I usually do is give him milk maybe because he was hungry but sometimes, he will wake up crying then I have to carry him to stop then he will not sleep na. Then after couple of minutes, pag nahimasmasan na, he will be one happy kiddo naman like this photo. I was just wondering kung bakit sya naiyak.. Hmmm.. Did you have the same experience with your kids? I'll appreciate any feedback. =)

Acute Gastroenteritis with Mild Dehydration

Last month, James started to poop more than twice a day. I wasn't that worried kasi the poop looks fine and Nanay said that it could have been that James is teething. Yes, he has a tooth now. Finally!! Hahaha. I'll blog about it on a different post because it is surely one of those milestones that are worth remembering right?
So going back, I didn't worry myself much about him pooping frequently.

As I have mentioned here, he got sick again with terrible coughs diba? At that same time, I mentioned to Dra. Alarcio that he was pooping couple of times a day so we were asked to have his stool examined then to give him hydrite every time he poops. I brought him back to the same clinic with Dra.Syquia to check his poop again because he has been defecating 4-5 times a day. That, and he has been vomiting too.. When he was checked, the docky said that he wasn't dehydrated pa naman and was ultimately active so we can give him hydrite muna while waiting for the result of his stool exam. In case he has acquired bacteria, then she will prescribe an antibiotic for it. Another day has passed after our visit to docky, nothing has changed. James has continued to poop and vomit almost everything that he consumed plus he became so clingy to me that I was not able to go to work. This is the moment every moms encounter where they have to weigh the situation - going to work to earn money or to be with your sick son and make sure he's well. I have chosen the second one. I am working my ass out for him so there's no way I am going to work while he was this sick. I am guilty of leaving him for work everyday while he's healthy, what more guilt will it be if I go to work while he was very sick? So wednesday night, I have decided to bring him straight to ER because he obviously lost so much weight for 5 days of smelly poops and endless vomiting. Sobrang naawa na ako sa kanya so I have decided that night to bring him to ER at 1am. I brought him to Alabang Medical Center Talon Branch since Dra. Syquia can look after him. After we have been confined, docky was notified of our arrival in the E.R and luckily the next day, she visited us to see what happened.

Docky said that I brought James in the hospital at the right time because he was starting to get dehydrated. Of course doc! Mommy instinct it is with the help of my sister, James' Tita Grace. I want him kasi na ma dextrose na sya because I will feel safe with it. Regardless kung magsuka or mag poop sya, as long as may dextrose sya, he will not get dehydrated basta diba? Also, I told to his Daddy that I can no longer take it seeing him vomiting. Sobrang nakakaawa..

We submitted another stool sample and urine too. Stool went out a little bad because they found red blood cells so James had to take antibiotic although urine went out fine.

The first attempt on making James take his medicine orally was quite a hassle, sumuka kasi sya minutes after nya mainom yung gamot eh. We have to rest for a little while and reduce his milk intake from 6oz to 2oz only. The next 2 days were lighter because he can tolerate his medicine already so on our fourth day, we were able to take him home. He gained back almost all of his weight again along wtih his kakulitan. It was really a good sign to see him happy and active again.

James is now doing great. He returned to his normal self - makulit at palangiti, along with that, the consistency of his poop is slowly going back to normal. I am one happy Mama to see him all well. =)

Also, we were told na it wasn't diarrhea daw. It was Acute Gastroenteritis with Mild Dehydration that he had. Docky also confirmed that he had an infectious bacteria in his tummy that caused him vomiting and pooping.

Anyway, I just want to share with you this:

I made asikaso everything that I need for Philhealth claim but I was told that what James' had was not covered daw because it was mild lang. It should be moderate to severe before it is covered or else you should pay everything. I got a little disappointed kasi it should be included specially for hospitalization kasi kaya nga sila insurance diba?? Nakakalokang tunay!! hay.. James' HMO fromour company is not effective until September so I really have to wait. I am crossing my fingers that he will no longer get sick.

Currently, I am trying to get him back to his usual 6oz milk intake. As soon as we got out, I increased it back to 4oz then now to 5oz. Hopefully in the next 2 days, it can be at 6oz ulit. I don't want na mabigla kasi yung tyan nya tapos magsuka ulit diba? =)

Thank you all for your concerns. Good thing James has recovered quite fast.

P.s

I am being active on my Instagram account now. You can follow me @its_mommy_jen =)
Does anyone know how I can link my instagram here in blogger? Hehe. Mag iinarte lang sana ako ng slight. Thanks in advance mwuah!

#weekendgala

Happy Sunday night guys!

I hope you are all had a blast. :)

May good news ako!! I.A.officially.back.....

Hahahaha! I'll try my best to have all my backlogs posted this week ha? Thank you all sa inyong patience :).

Our Daddy hasn't arrived this weekend because of basketball league na sinalihan nya.As much as possible, ayaw ko na lang na pigilan sya sa sports na hilig nya kasi I want him to support me in my blogging too. Hehe :)

Also, He might have been tired too because the past week was quite handful for the both of us so he also has to unwind thru his favorite sports. Nevertheless, our James has gotten better after his confinement which I'll share with you early this coming week when I get back to work. Wait lang kayo ha? Makakabalik din ako. Hehehe.

It was me and James riding a bus going to Southmall. I had him sitting in the bus too. I posted the photo in facebook and got 30+ likes for it :) They may really like my James hehe. :)

See y'all soon!! =)

 update!
I have just notice na iba yung font ng post na to. I have been trying to fix it pero ayaw nya mag paayos hehe. =)

Short Kwento with Matching Tambay =)

Have been absent for 4 days now. Iyak na lang ako nito next payday. Huhuhuh!

Anyway, I am here in the office to update my Philhealth chenes so I can use it tomorrow when we bill out sa hospital. I hope James will get better today. Mejo matagal naman na yung interval ng poops and vomit nya so most likely we will go home tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.. =)

I have a short kwento pala, I was so pissed off kasi I was not able to get the form from our HR due to their lunch break. I went to Philhealth Makati just so I can see if my MDR has been updated but to no avail, hindi pala so I have to go back to work and hunt our HR representative, which is as of the moment, I am blogging :) Ways ways na lang eh =)

As soon as I reached the kuya to get my MDR, mejo nagpa cute ako ng slight lang naman. When I found out nga na hindi updated, I asked kung pano ko iuupdate kahit alam ko na. Play innocent lang ba? hehe. With matching kislap mata and sweet smile. =)

Later on, kuya said na bumalik na lang ako sa kanya so I don't have to go through the long lines. Alam nyo naman sa Pinas, pag sinabing long lines, I'm taking about LOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGGGG LLLLLINNNNNNEEEEESSSS.. Yessss!! Buti na lang mabait si kuya!! =)

Hahahah.

Akalain nyo yun muthers? Mejo may charm pa pala tayo ng slight ano? Kala ko kasi naisama na sa inunan ni James nung nanganak ako eh. Hahaha.

Oh sya.. Yan muna, I'll be back soon... miss you ALL!! mwuah mwuah tsup tsup! =)

Diarrhea It is =(

As of this moment, James is confined at Alabang Medical Center Talon due to diarrhea. As I have mentioned here, James has been pooping and vomitting 4-5 times a day so last night, I have decided to bring him straight to E.R. Dra. Syquia has been notified of our arrival too. I felt I have made the right decision as confirmed by docky this morning when she had her rounds. James might have been dehydrated last night.

My little strong man! =)
See how happy he remained? Last night he was so matamlay =( I'll soon make kwento of the details promise. Miss you all. =)

Get well soon James!!

P.S

Is it true??? No way!!!

I was browsing through my facebook page when I saw this..

May balak daw i-ban yung FSOG dito sa Philippines?

You may watch it here.

Inaabangan ko pa naman 'to =(

James is Sick Again + Mommy Fleur Items Received =)

Hi guyss!!

I am still alive and kicking! Di pa po magco close ang blog na ito. I know i mentioned last time na I'll have my regular programming na however things are getting a little handful nowadays.

James is sick again!! He's vomiting and pooping several times a day. Mostly yung mga dinedede nya, isusuka lang nya. Nakakaawa sya pumayat na at gumaan na ng bongga. =(

The other night, I think Sunday night when his Daddy arrived and slept with us, I had a good cry. I feel bad because he was sick. I knew how he feels. I even talked to James again and told him na "bigay mo na lang kay Mama yung sakit mo ha? Baka ikapayat ko pa yun eh natuwa pa ako." Us mommies never wanted our babies getting sick to a point we, somehow wish na pwede na lang natin kunin yung sakit nila para lang ma spare sila sa kahit anong sickness. =(

I brought him to his pedia to have him checked. Prior to that, I had his stool examined and found that it was normal. I told his pedia what is going on with James, like he usually consume 6oz every 2 hours but now, I had him only 2-3oz frequently. Same as what his docky advised of small frequent feeding, still he was vomiting. It started on Saturday that he has been in this condition although he was pooping 3 times a day prior to the weekend that past. I feel really sad thinking that what I am doing isn't enough to keep him safe and away from any sickness. I have been thinking on having him confined but the docky said na painumin lang muna ng hydrite. James remained a happy baby specially when he wakes up after a good nap though from time to time, he becomes irritated after awhile. Sabi ni docky hindi naman daw sya dehydrated so there's no need for him to be hospitalized. I even bought a generic brand of hydrite because the Mercury Drug that I asked about the brand the docky was referring to was not available. James didn't like it so I raised it up with docky and I was explained that most of the babies like the Glucolite brand so I roamed around in the area and finally was able to get one. Surprisingly, he liked it very well and even drink it often. Aside from keeping him hydrated, I was asked to give him zinc sulfate but when I gave him 1ml, nagsuka lang sya Mommies!!

Grabe I am so windang na I don't know what to do na talaga. I think it is diarrhea he is having. I even asked if it was about him teething pero the docky said na hindi naman lahat pareho ng sitwasyon. We have to repeat his stool exam to find out of its a virus kasi if it was then it will eventually get out of his body but if its bacteria then we have to give him antibiotics.

I have also read in Mommy Center:

It’s the Bacteria, Baby!
Dr. Tayag says that when a baby is teething, “the gums become very itchy and sometimes even sore or painful.” Relief comes with biting or chewing on something like a teether. In the absence of one, he settles for his hands.
Consider too that the first tooth comes out on a baby’s sixth month. This is the stage when he is exploring the world with his mouth as doing so gives him information like taste and texture. The problem with all this exploration is that his toys and hands might be dirty and could be carrying unwanted bacteria.
Bacteria, which enter the body easily through the mouth, cause infection that may manifest as a fever, diarrhea, or some other teething symptoms. As teething can be painful, the child may become irritable too. In such cases, Dr. Tayag says paracetamol, which is also prescribed for fever, may be taken to ease the pain.
Keeping Baby’s Things Clean
Now that we know the real enemy, it is time to be proactive and keep everything that is within our child’s reach very clean.  When my children were still small, I had a rag that was just used for sanitizing their toys. I would spray it with a vinegar-and-baking-soda solution and swipe the bacteria away.
I was also ready with a hand sanitizer and some wipes every time we would go out. Cleaning a restaurant table or a grocery cart brought some dirty looks in our direction, but as the saying goes, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I reflected that during those days bago pa sya magsuka, he'll get everything in his mouth. It might be it na naka consume sya ng bacteria. Hmm..

I hope he'll get better soon Mommies!

Anyway, on a lighter note, I have received na the Mommy Fleur blog 5th Anniversary Giveaway.

I had it sent in my sister house and she posted a photo on her instagram with a comment :

"We have received your delivery Dhyen. Sorry we got curious and open your package . Anyway, that's all of it and we did not take any!"

Ang dami ng nakapilang umaarbor nito pero sabi ko shut up! hahaha. You know Mommies? Blogging has making me happy and forget what I am going through as of the moment kaya kahit 2 days ako ulit absent sa work, I went to my sister's office to blog this. Hehe. Baka makalimutan nyo na ako eh. Sa mga may utang akong blog comment, pasensya na. I'll read your posts as soon as James get better. =) Miss you all!!!!

Happy Birthday Jo-anne + Getting Regularized at Work =)

I am happy to announce that I am now a regular employee in our company. You all probably now that I stopped working when I got pregnant with James which I somewhat a regret but hey, past is past. Hehe. So then, I am really happy that I am quite secured that I have a job and to be able to save money on James' outpatient services. One of the benefits of being a regular employee is having an HMO which can be used for outpatient and inpatient services. The only downside on this company is that I have to pay for James' benefits. He wasn't included at all unlike with those other companies I joined in years ago. Anyway, choosy pa ba ako? Eh ok naman ang trabaho ko dito plus I can blog while at work diba? San ka pa? Hehe. Pero promies ginagawa ko talaga trabaho ko ha?! Kaya wag nyo kong isumbong =)

I am really thankful that I have chosen to join this company  in January, I got to find the best officemates I could have. I mean, we definitely have our own uniqueness and age gaps (sorry sa tatamaan. Hahaha!) but we are blending very well. I found our batch really solid that we stick to each other whatever the situation in the office are. I guess pantay talaga si God in everything, He might close the door for you, but surely he left the windows and the roof open. =) I am really contented and happy that I met this people, they give me enough courage everyday and I can get to tell them my stories, they judge me? I don't know. Kunsensya na nila na i-judge ang tulad ko but I trust they don't. =)

The Batch 4 (From L-R) Ken, Jo-anne, Me, Sokey, Benj, Franz, Ate Annie and Euclid
We weren't actually complete in this photos. We were missing one, nag AWOL na kasi sya so kami na lang ang natira. It was funny because we went in the pantry kahit hindi namin break. The birthday celebrant Jo-anne doesn't know that we have a cake for her, we were waiting in the pantry while she's in the restroom, although tinawag na namin sya, sobrang tagal nya. hahaha. Nag orasyon pa kasi sa C.R. Heheh.

One of the coolest officemates I have met. Thank you guys for sticking together and chatting and laughing and chismisan and eat out and more.. I love you all =)
