Electricity Bill for Summer

It was in December when Daryl and I lived by ourselves na.

It wasn't easy because both of us doesn't know how to run a household.

Well, hindi naman siguro kami nag-iisa jan. I know a lot of newlyweds or living in partners can attest to this.

For the past couple of months, December to start with, everything was according to how I planned it, at least in terms of utilities.

Our electricity bill for the months of February and March
Our apartment was so presko, we only need one electric fan when we sleep. Our Ac unit was not used at all during the months of December to February. Anjan lang yan for display. The P400+ bill went that high because we had some DVD marathon (walking dead seasons 1-4) for how many days.

The things that we have at home that consumes electricity are :

1. 2 Electric fans
2. rice cooker
3. TV
4. DVD
5. Aircondition
6. 5 light bulbs

Magbayad ka ba naman ng P200 - P450 na kuryente eh.. Wow! Hayahay ang buhay.

Well, akala ko lang yun!

Eto na ang summer no?!

Gaaahhhhdddd!!!!

It's so effin' hot sa bahay namin!

I wonder what happened to the presko at maaliwalas na bahay!!

By early march, we have been using 2 electric fans na. I was really conscious of our electricity. Yung tipong kaya pa ng electric fans where you can sleep comfortably.

We started using AC at night for only 1 to 2 hours then we'll close the room and use one electric fan. We lived by it for weeks but when months of April and May came, we use the AC every night. From 11pm to 6am or 8am.

Sabi ko sa sarili ko:

Me: Di bale ng magbayad ako ng mejo malaki this month, sobrang init eh. Hindi makatulog si Jami, pinagpapawisan sa gabi. Kawawa naman sya. Kaya nga ako nag ta trabaho para kahit paano, makapag provide ako ng pangangailangan nya.

Me: Siguro mga nasa 800 to 1k na ang kuryente ko nito.

When the bill came..

Our electric bills during summer
Gaaaahhhdddd!! Dumoble ako nung April, then triple nung May!!!

Parang gusto kong umiyak!

I know a lot of you would say na mababa pa nga ang bill na yan because a lot of people I know had 4k-6k electric bill for one month. Nawindang lang talaga ako ng slight. Coming from P250 na bill tapos biglang P1,600++? Parang gusto kong tumambling talaga!! Huhu!

Kayo?! What's your electricity bill?

P.S Happy long weekend guys!! =)

  1. First of all, let me congratulate you for braving to go on your own. The first few years will be tough but it will build your character and when you look back a few years from now, you will be so proud of what you went through you won't have it any other way.

The most expensive bill we had was April at Php1,025.00 but that's because we don't have aircon as we live in the mountains =D

  3. It's okay to have that type of bills, as from what I remember, nagtataas usually ang meralco ng rates nila pag malapit na mag summer and then ibababa nila or bawas singil pag pumasok na ulit ang rainy season :) PS: Congrats on the move out, I hope makasunod kami ng hubby ko soon sa yapak na nagawa niyo :)

  4. Naku, yung amin umabot ng 5k db. Ako naman kasi as much as possible gusto kongcomfortable kami ni Rhian and Baby Bunso lalo na ngayon super duper to the highest level ang init kaya yung aircon namin almost whole day bukas. :)

  6. Yeah our bill is about the same. Invest in LED lights, mommy. And if you are still in the process of buying stuff for the house, buy the energy-saving ones. They may cost more at initial purchase, but in the long run, it will really help your bills.

  8. I've been thinking of buying rice cooker,we never owned one before except when I used to live there.Rice cooker is really one of the killers when it comes to electric bill. You can try to experiment if cooking on stove is cheaper and try to find energy-savings light bulbs.

  9. Wow! How I wish to have a bill like yours!!! We have 3 a/c on during summer as all kids were home. Hihimatayin ka if you see my bill! Congrats for being an efficient user of electricity!!

  10. Our bill runs at around 3k, because our house is just too hot. Hindi kaya ng dalawang electric fan. My son is still recovering from a recent asthma attack and I can't afford to have him go through that again. I just try to make sure it doesn't go beyond 3k.

  11. I feel the same way you do, my electric bill doubled as well. Sobrang init kasi, It is hard to say no to my kids begging for aircon. Tipid mode nalang muna sa ibang bagay.

  13. When we got engaged, hiwalay na agad kami ng bahay para ready na, haha, pero kinasal din naman kami agad after 3 months, haha, excited, Nung wala pa kaming baby, todo na ang 1700 na electricity bill, wala pa kaming ac nun. Nitong may baby na, hindi pwede walang ac, sobra magpawis, kaya ngayong summer, I wasn't surprised when our bill reached 3,600.
